Chalet Isatys ...
The views will take your breath away when you stay at this pretty, traditional chalet for nine guests, halfway between the charming village of Manigod and the Croix-Fry ski station.
And after a wonderful day skiing, hiking or cycling in the Aravis mountains, you'll be happy to relax with a drink on the large, south-facing terrace or in the garden. On a wintry evening, you might prefer to be curled up in front of the fire.
Manigod has a bar/restaurant, a bakery, pottery shop, hairdressers, craft shop, health spa and a physio clinic. There's also a busy programme of events for guests throughout the year, many of which take place around the church in the village centre. There are more restaurants during high season at Croix Fry, and more shops and restaurants in Thônes (10km) and La Clusaz (12km).
About the property ...
Accommodation at Chalet Isatys is set over three floors, with four spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The first bedroom is on the ground floor - it's a double bedroom with an en suite shower room and doors to the garden. There's also a separate WC and a laundry room on this floor.
There are three more bedrooms on the top floor. The first is a double room with a seating area and doors on to the balcony, and there's another room with twin beds. The third bedroom, which also has doors to the balcony, has a set of bunk beds and a single bed. There is a spacious shower room on this floor as well as a cosy seating area which is the perfect place for children to play.
The first floor is devoted to the open plan living area. Comfortable sofas and chairs are arranged around the television at the side of the chalet, with windows looking on to the garden, and the desk is a useful feature for those who would like to work remotely during their stay. There's also a WC on this floor.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a tasty meal, and there's plenty of room to eat together at the dining table near the woodburning stove. But when the weather allows, you'll want to be on the spacious terrace, soaking up the sun and those stunning views. There's a seating area complete with cushions and throws, and a dining table - on a good day you won't want to be anywhere else!
There is parking for two cars outside the chalet, and room for another in the garage, which is also a great place to store bikes and ski equipment.
About the area ...
The nearby ski station of La Croix Fry (altitude 1500m) is just 3km away from Chalet Isatys, and parking is free. From here, experienced skiers can ski the circuit around to La Clusaz. There’s an ESF ski school at Croix Fry and the nursery slopes are perfect for youngsters to learn on, but there is also plenty of challenge for more experienced skiers. If you'd rather not take the car out, the regular ski bus stops just 250m from the chalet.
There are also several bars and restaurants in Croix Fry where you can refuel before moving on. Your Aravis/La Clusaz ski pass gives you access to 95 lifts and 220km of pistes, so there’s always somewhere new to discover.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice skating rink and cinema at La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides all nearby.
After a day full of activity, you can watch the sunset and the shooting stars over the Manigod valley from the balcony at Chalet Isatys.
In the summer, you can explore the mountains and the pine forests by foot or by bike. There are quite a few marked footpaths criss-crossing this beautiful farming valley, but if you want to make the most of the altitude, put your bike on the ski lift at La Clusaz and come back down at your own pace, or pack a picnic and explore the Beauregard plateau.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, or white-water rafting within a few miles of Manigod. Via ferrata is another great family day out, with adults and children able to explore the mountains on iron walkways, secured to a harness. If you'd prefer to take life at a slower pace, why not go on a donkey trek in the Col des Aravis with a picnic in the large baskets carried by the donkeys!
Annecy is a great destination for a complete contrast to spending time in the mountains. Only 30 minutes away by car, there's a beautiful medieval town and canals to explore as well as the lake, where you can try a range of water sports, enjoy a cruise, hire a boat or just have a lazy day on one of the many beaches.

The OVO Network Review
Chalet Isatys is a three-storey chalet for 9 guests, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the most incredible views over the Aravis valley!
It's conveniently located halfway between Manigod village and the family-friendly ski station at Croix Fry - it's a popular place for families with young children, who can find their ski legs on the nursery slopes there. But there's plenty more to explore, and the ski bus network covers the resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand too.
When the snow has melted, you can explore this beautiful area on foot or by bike - there are plenty of trails around the village. Back at Chalet Isatys, you can warm up in front of the fire in winter, or relax on the furnished terrace when the weather is warmer.
There are plenty of sofas and chairs in front of the television, and a compact but well-equipped kitchen which has everything you need to prepare a meal for your group. Enjoy it together at the dining table, which is perfectly positioned to make the most of the views.
The first of the four bedrooms is a double room with an en suite shower room on the ground floor - it also has doors to the garden where you can enjoy the fresh morning air. There are three more bedrooms on the top floor - a double, a twin room and a room with bunk beds and a single bed - which share a spacious shower room.
Two of these bedrooms have access to a shared balcony.
Chalet Isatys is a comfortable and practical option for a family group who want to enjoy the mountains without the hustle and bustle of larger resorts. Children will love the second sitting room on the top floor and the garden in front of the chalet.

From the owner

Clori Loris & Yolande
We fell in love with Manigod when we were looking for a chalet in Haute Savoie, and in 1989, La Chavonne proved to be the ideal place to build our family chalet.
In this little corner of paradise just an hour's drive from Geneva, Chalet Isatys has welcomed family and friends for weekends and holidays for decades. Then, as the children and grandchildren grew up, the chalet often found itself empty, which is why we decided to rent it out.
We hope you enjoy your stay in our chalet.

“Perfect Stay with Amazing Views and Great Equipment”
Perfect stay. Warm welcome and, above all, the chalet was very well equipped and prepared to welcome us. As cooking enthusiasts, everything we needed was provided in terms of equipment. Magnificent view of the Charvin massif.
“Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful Chalet with a Caring Host”
The chalet is beautiful and tastefully furnished. Virginie is a remarkable and lovely host who truly cares about providing a perfect stay for travelers. The owners are wonderful for allowing our pets. It was a real pleasure to stay with our family in this peaceful place. Thank you again!
“Warm welcome, cozy chalet”
We had a great week during the Christmas holidays with family at the Isatys chalet. We first appreciated the welcome and communication from managers Virginie & Mickael before and during the stay. They did not hesitate to help us when we needed to get 2 of our cars out of the snow and 'lift' them back onto the road. We also appreciated the services of the chalet and the quality of the equipment. We were touched by the welcome gifts.
